My lovely coworkers took me out for a (slightly belated) birthday lunch right across the street - convenient good food.
We spent a bit of time trying to choose a sake, and since B ordered it, I have no idea what it was called. All I know is, hot sake on a cold day is a definite win! We each picked our own dishes, but shared the robata potato and sweet (taro) potato. M decided on the yellowtail, while I opted for the black cod (with a side of asparagus). They both claimed their fish were delicious, and I'll just take their word for it =P B started off with a seared tuna salad before heartily enjoying some chicken wings. The birthday girl couldn't decide what to get, but ended up once again choosing the chicken thigh skewers - they were just too good last time to pass up! Since it was my celebration, I decided to get a little extra, and added in some roasted rice balls (onigiri!) and fried tofu.
And obviously, passing up on dessert would've been a definite slap-in-the-face. Since they had run out last time, I was eyeing the taiyaki - luckily I wasn't disappointed a second time. M & I followed suit and decided to share one, while B ordered an ann-mitsu for himself. He wasn't all that thrilled with his dessert, but my taiyaki was exactly what I'd been craving. Can't wait to eat it again XD
