This is the first, but hopefully not the last, time I'm visiting Spice Market. We had our own little party room downstairs, in a comfy little alcove full of large plush pillows that're quite dangerous come food coma time! Yes, we all could've (& wanted to!) pass out there at the end of the night with the curtains closed, and it's a wonder we didn't. Our party had a LOT of diverse and picky eaters, and yet we went family style. Somehow that still worked out really well, and all the dishes I tried were quite tasty! On our menu for the night?
The APPs = lobster summer roll; spicy thai fried chicken wings; spiced chicken samosas; and crab dumplings.
Followed by the ENTREEs = crispy salt and pepper skate; cod w/malaysian chili sauce; red curried duck; char grilled chicken; and grilled strip steak.
Accompanied by the RICEs = coconut sticky rice; jasmine rice; and ginger fried rice w/egg on top.
And of course, we could never leave without having DESSERTs = ovaltine kulfi; crushed white chocolate & yuzu pavlova; green apple cobbler (winner of the night!); vietnamese coffee ice cream; and cookie bags galore!
Everything had at least a touch of spice in it, giving it a distinct taste you wouldn't ordinarily expect (especially in the desserts!).
