At Saigon Grill, I had #80 aka Bun aka room temperature rice vermicelli w. cucumber, lettuce, bean sprouts, crusted peanut & fresh herbs in nuoc cham sauce topped w. choice of grilled chicken - or so it says on their menu.
Obviously, I opted for the grilled chicken. Unfortunately, it's so incredibly dark in the restaurant, that a non-flash photo was impossible. Their chicken & vermicelli were quite good, but peanut sauce would've made it 10x better. So...can we say semi-YUMMY?
After dinner, we walked the 3 blocks down to the infamous:
It was tough deciding what to get, but short of waiting for everything to sell out, we finally decided to split the Milk Chocolate Mousse and Molten Chocolate Cake (w/an extra scoop of freshly spun vanilla ice cream) amongst the four of us. Despite an already full stomach, how could anyone resist these?
The one thing you might want to be aware of is that they lie in the description of the mousse - we discovered the peanut butter on the bottom - this discovery half way through upgraded the dessert from just plain ole good to really good ;)
Yes, it was a warm night, and though the ice cream melted quickly, it was a smart decision on our part to have added it. It was just the right mixture of hot cake and cold ice cream.
YUMMY.
